Of course, we have no photos of the future show, but here’s some shots from last year at The Haunt. Johnny-centric as usual (per the blog name!) but a great show with many local talents. Check the poster-you can catch them again this Sunday!

Benefit for Food Bank of the Southern Tier – Lot 10

banner_20161126food-bankfbCome support the Turkey Drive of the Food Bank of the Southern Tier. Tioga Downs Casino will be matching whatever we can raise for the Turkey Drive. We are looking to raise funds for the drive and will not be collecting food items at the event.

Pleased to have a last minute addition to the show. John Dowd will open the show at 9:00 with a solo set. Glad he’s made the time to be part of this benefit. Please help spread the word and we’ll see how many people we can help get meals to this holiday season.

Live at The Dock: A Benefit for Bernie Sanders

PosterBanner_Dock,BernieSanders,20151128

So many reason to show up at The Dock …..

Don Bazley:

Each year for my birthday party I hold a benefit for a person or organization. Usually, these parties have been “tribute shows”. This year it’s a tribute to democracy in association with Ithaca/Tompkins County for Bernie Sanders. Come early and learn how you can get involved to help Bernie win the White House.

A suggested donation of $10 will be accepted at the door with hopes folks will give more to support the campaign. There will be different ways to donate to both/either the national campaign or the local effort.

Party goes from 4:00pm-12:00.

Nationwide Musicians for Bernie day

FOOTNOTE:

thaca Musicians for Bernie Sanders: Benefit Concert report
Don Bazley’s benefit concert for Bernie Sanders was a great success!  Many people came out, the musicians and the setting were super, and we added  about 70 new supporters to our Bernletter mailing list! We also raised $2102 to send to the national campaign and sent quite a few people home with Bernie t-shirts, bumper stickers and so forth.

There was a lot of interest (among musicians and attendees) in doing another event.  We’d just need a location and some people to help organize it!

If you missed this event, a number of the musicians donated CD’s of their music to the “cause” — stop by our campaign office at 215 The Commons, make a donation, and you can take home some music (along with a button or bumper sticker…)

Over the past few years gardening and nutrition programs have begun to take off at our local schools. This event will help two of the local schools, Beverly J. Martin Elementary in Ithaca and Newfield Central Schools support continuing nutrition education, BJMs trailblazing Fresh Fruits and Vegetable Snack Program and a snack program pilot at Newfield. In addition, funds will support gardens and weekly in-school gardening activities at both schools. Not only do these programs benefit students, but they also have a big impact on the community as exemplified by the 350 lbs. of fresh organic produce grown at Newfield School and donated to the local food pantry!
